Before You Drop Them Off: The Conversations to Have Before College

0:0030 min

Sending your kid off to college is exciting, emotional, and a little terrifying. And for Rebecca, it brings back memories of the health clinic she started on a college campus more than 25 years ago.

We talk about what she saw there, from homesickness and seven-dollar clinic visits to drinking, drugs, sex, campus safety, mental health, and some truly questionable decisions made by student athletes.

But this episode isn’t about scaring parents or students. It’s about having a few important conversations before move-in day, knowing what resources are available on campus, and making sure your kid knows where to turn when they need help.

Because eventually you have to drop them off. The goal is to make sure they’re a little more prepared when you do.
